"Homemade" is a term that gets thrown around a lot by marketers, but to Eleanor Ozich, it's a way of life.

She's a blogger, author and home cook who embraces living a simple, eco-conscious and  healthy lifestyle that includes something many of us have forgotten how to do, making things ourselves.

Eleanor shows us how whipping up things from scratch doesn't just save endless trips to the supermarket, she says it's satisfying and can save you a lot of money.

She explains how to whip up everything from mayonnaise to crackers, cleaning products to lip balm in her latest book, Homemade.

She shares two recipes with us from her book - Rosemary infused caramel sauce and super seeded crackers

Eleanor Ozich has essential oils such as lemon and peppermint in some of her recipes, which some practioners have warned against. You can hear our interview with one of those people from last week here. She says the oils should never be taken orally.
