Max Earnshaw performs his debut single 'Temporarily'

From Afternoons, 1:08 pm on 21 March 2019

Young singer-songwriter Max Earnshaw started busking on the streets of Christchurch at just eight years old (with parental supervision).

He's now 21, living in Auckland, and 'Temporarily' – his song about materialism – came out last week.

Max and his band play 'Temporarily' in our Auckland studio and chat to Jesse Mulligan.

As a child busker, Max specialised in Kiwi classics like Dragon's April Sun in Cuba and The Exponents' Why Does Love Do This To Me?

In 2017, Max's band Haze won the Christchurch regional final of the high school music competition Smokefree Rockquest.
