After seeing a beautiful farm on the TV show Country Calendar, Hamilton dairy farming couple Michele and Roy Connell got the idea for the website Off the Beaten Track.
The website – which launched this April – lists over 100 farm properties with out of the way camping sites, old cabins and sometimes quite fancy lodge accommodation.
Michele and Roy now looking for 'off roadies' – people who, in return for staying free, will review the accommodation and give farmers' feedback about how their place was for a tourist to visit.
