10:18 Nurses burnt out amidst health system crisis

Hospital staff say the strain on the health workforce is now beyond crisis as we currently have over 900 people in hospital and it's expected to rise. Last year a call went out to nurses all over the country to come to Auckland to relieve the pressure but now that pressure is being felt around the whole country. President of the NZNO, Anne Daniels joins Karyn to explain the strain they are currently under.

10:25 New Zealand history education compulsory in schools

Today the Government released the final content of the "Aotearoa New Zealand's histories curriculum". From next year our own country's history will be a compulsory subject for students in all schools from primary up to Year 10. The curriculum was released today to give schools and teachers time to become familiar with the content and to plan how local history might be woven into their stories. To discuss the process and the content of the curriculum is Pem Bird who is a celebrated Maori educator and historian.
