10:18 Women label Samsung's 2am run advertisement as 'unrealistic'

Technology giant Samsung are accused of being tone-deaf this week after a controversial advertisement garnered confusion and criticism from women in the UK where it was launched. The minute-long ad depicts a woman heading out for a run at 2am in the morning. She is shown to be running through dark streets and city alleyways and at one point is circled and followed by a man on a bicycle. Online commentators have called the ad unrealistic, insensitive. In recent months, women in the UK have been on high alert after a spate of murders including Ashling Murphy, who was attacked while out running along a canal in Dublin earlier this year, and the murders of Sarah Everard and Sabina Nessa who were both killed while walking their local streets. Keen runner Stephanie Whyte shares her thoughts on the advertisement.
