A new rostering system for police emergency call handlers is being called a failure. Preference-based scheduling, or PBS as it's commonly known, is one of two rostering systems used in Police comms centres, and was first introduced in 2015. The Police Association wants it changed, following a recent survey from its members found it was putting too much stress on those taking some of the country's most harrowing calls.
