Auckland Council apologises over information stalling

From Morning Report, 8:26 am on 26 July 2018

Auckland Council has apologised to RNZ for handling an official information request in way the chief ombudsman says broke all the rules. RNZ complained to the Ombudsman about the five months it took to get a council report on the future of the imported vehicle trade at the Ports of Auckland. Chief Ombudsman Peter Boshier recommended the council apologise after he found their treatment of the request was unreasonable and, in some respects, appeared to break the law.
