No conflict of interest in Wally Haumaha inquiry - Martin

From Morning Report, 7:20 am on 1 August 2018

The government is resisting calls from the National Party to remove the head of an inquiry into Wally Haumaha's appointment as deputy police commissioner. Pauline Kingi is leading an investigation into the process which saw Mr Haumaha's appointment promotion, but it was revealed yesterday that Dr Kingi endorsed 23 of Mr Haumaha's skills on the professional networking platform LinkedIn. National's police spokesperson Chris Bishop said that constituted a conflict of interest and that Dr Kingi should go. Tracey Martin is the minister in charge of the inquiry. She talks to Alex Perrottet.
