Sri Lankan student visa scam goes back five years

The fraudulent company at the centre of a student visa scam in Sri Lanka has been providing information for Immigration New Zealand applications for the past five years. Investigations have been launched into the Sri Lankan based finance company, local education agents and possibly students themselves. But immigration officials say they're hamstrung when it comes to past visas, so will not be reviewing all applications. National says that outrageous, and shows the coalition government is going soft on an issue it talked up during the election campaign.
