Rescuing stranded humpback whales 'a race against time'

Two Humpback whales, believed to be a mother and its calf, remain stranded on Baylys Beach, near Dargaville. The two whales were discovered on Sunday morning. A crew of more than 100 volunteers and whale stranding specialists unsuccessfully attempted to refloat the pair yesterday afternoon at high tide.
