Ngāpuhi rangatahi sick of leaders bickering - Treaty Negotiations Minister

From Morning Report, 7:37 am on 10 August 2018

Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations Minister Andrew Little is heading to Northland this weekend in an 11th-hour attempt to break the deadlock between warring Ngāpuhi factions, which threatens to scuttle the iwi's long-awaited Treaty negotiations before they even start. Pita Tipene is one of the leaders of the rebel hapū alliance Te Kotahitanga. He says the Minister and Tuhoronuku - the board approved by the Crown to negotiate on behalf of the whole iwi - are ignoring the Waitangi Tribunal's warnings such a process will trample the rights of individual sub-tribes. Mr Little discusses the issue with Guyon Espiner.
