Some building contract clauses 'scary' - industry

Government ministries and agencies are being ordered to stop adopting tactics that force builders into risky contracts. Contractors say they've been exposed to agencies trying to build on the cheap or asking them to quote on projects that haven't been fully designed yet. Now the Building and Construction Minister, Jenny Salesa, has issued a directive that all departments use a fair use contract. The president of the Specialist Trade Contractors Federation, Graham Burke, told Charlie Dreaver contracts need to be more equitable.
