Govt announces 10,000 new homes for Auckland's Mt Roskill

From Morning Report, 7:43 am on 10 September 2018

The government has announced plans to demolish about 3000 state homes in the Auckland suburb of Mt Roskill and build about 10,000 new homes in their place. The development is almost identical to Auckland's Mangere Precinct that was announced back in July with the 10,000 homes expected in 15 years. They will be split into one third state housing, one third KiwiBuild, and one third open market homes. Many of them will be built within walking distance to a planned light rail network, Housing and Transport Minister Phil Twyford says.
