South Carolina evacuates as Hurricane Florence looms

From Morning Report, 8:25 am on 12 September 2018

That's South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster. Mandatory evacuations have been issued for more than a million people on the east coast of the United States as the country braces for the arrival Hurricane Florence. Even though it's not expected to make landfall for another two days the storm is now a category 4 hurricane and is expected to be the hardest hurricane the Carolinas have seen in more than 60 years. The last time such a storm hit - Hurricane Hazel in 1954 - Dwight Eisenhower was in the White House and Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio were newlyweds. Our US correspondent is Kate Fisher. She talks to Susie Ferguson.
