McDonald's reviews language policy after te reo Māori complaint

From Morning Report, 6:40 am on 13 September 2018

McDonald's New Zealand is changing its language policy after a worker in Hamilton was told she couldn't speak te reo Maori on the restaurant floor. Janine Eru Taueki, whose first language is Maori, says she couldn't believe it when her shift manager at McDonald's Te Rapa told her to stop using te reo following a complaint. McDonald's says it was a misunderstanding and it will now review its policy of staff only being allowed to speak English on the workfloor.
