Terminally ill cancer patients criticise Pharmac over drug cost

From Morning Report, 7:10 am on 13 September 2018

Terminally ill cancer patients say a Pharmac decision is leaving them with no options but to wait to die, unless they can afford to buy their own drugs. They're patients with late-stage bowel cancer who've also had severe reactions to chemotherapy drugs. Their doctors have recommended an alternative drug, but it's seldom funded by Pharmac, leaving some patients with nowhere to turn if they lack deep pockets.
