History, environment, kaumātua keep te reo Māori alive
A small Ngāpuhi school is harnessing its history, environment and kaumātua to help keep it's local reo alive. Te Kura o Waikare near Kawakawa is one of two Kura-a-Iwi in Te Tai Tokerau, and the school's remote location is proving the perfect environment to strengthen the Ngāpuhi dialect. Te Manu Korihi reporter John Boynton visited the kura to find out more.
