Ron Mark defends NZDF extension in Iraq

The government has announced it will extend its military presence in Iraq until June 2019, despite Labour, New Zealand First and the Greens all having been highly critical of the deployment in the past. In 2005, New Zealand First's Ron Mark said the National government should bring New Zealand troops home from Iraq. Now as Defence Minister he has signed on to an extension. What changed his mind? He tells Kim Hill the National government failed in informing parties across Parliament of the value of NZDF soldiers in Iraq.
