From Morning Report, 8:30 am on 26 September 2018

It's been revealed a Pacific-based Super Rugby team will have to stump up NZ$18 million a year to be able to take part in the competition. RNZ understands Super Rugby's governing body, SANZAAR demands US$12 million - as the minimum annual investment. Samoan Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi Tui, who is also head of his nation's rugby union, told RNZ Insight it's way beyond the reach of even a combined Pacific team. RNZ reporter Vinnie Wylie is reporting this story for RNZ Insight and he's in the studio to talk to Susie Ferguson.
