Depressed Victoria student waited months for counselling

From Morning Report, 6:45 am on 27 September 2018

Students at Victoria University say it can take months to get help from campus mental health services. RNZ has been reporting on the case of student Dani Saundry, who was asked to leave the Cumberland House hall of residence the day after she tried to kill herself last October. The university says it was concerned the safety of other students would be compromised if she'd stayed, and also believed a hall of residence was not the right environment for her. Richard Beere's a Victoria student - he told reporter Charlie Dreaver he twice sought counselling for depression but all the campus health service could officer was medication.
