NZ swimmer recovers from pneumonia after UK Channel attempt

From Morning Report, 8:54 am on 1 October 2018

A Lower Hutt woman who came just 50 metres short of swimming the English Channel has spent the last three days in hospital recovering from pneumonia. Denise Clarke spent 17 hours trying to cross the 32km-wide strait between England and France before she was pulled from the water due to exhaustion. Earlier she told me the conditions and the shipping schedule were not on her side, but she'd be keen to give it another go when she recovers.
