Scrapped Tegel mega-farm a blow to region - Kaipara mayor

A Northland mayor is describing the loss of a giant chicken farm as another blow to the deprived region. Tegel's plan to build a chicken mega-farm in Northland has been rejected by the Overseas Investment Office. The local community widely opposed the plan. But Kaipara District Mayor Jason Smith says the area would have benefitted from the development.
