WWF urges more govt action on Maui dolphin

The conservation group WWF is calling on the government to do more to protect the severely endangered Maui dolphin. Yesterday the Department of Conservation reported what it suspects is a Maui dolphin had been found on Sunday washed up on a beach north of Raglan. While the cause of death is still being determined it's a major blow for the Maui dolphin whose population is estimated to be as low as 57. The government is currently reviewing its plan to manage threats to Maui and Hector's dolphins. The head of WWF New Zealand, Livia Esterhazy, told RNZ reporter Tom Furley that while they're contributing to the review, she hopes the government steps up.
