Drug use rife in military - former soldier

From Morning Report, 7:51 am on 12 October 2018

A former soldier court-martialled for possessing drug paraphenalia says drug use is rife in the millitary, and the Defence Force's new approach to dealing with offenders is long overdue. The Defence Force has teamed up with the Drug Foundation and come up with a new and more supportive way to deal with soldiers who take drugs. But this has come too late for Jordan Aldridge who was caught with equipment used to smoke cannabis at the Linton Millitary Camp in March 2015 and subsequently sentenced to twenty-eight days detention at the Burnham Millitary Camp. He told Morning Report producer Jeremy Wilkinson that drug-use in the army is widespread.
