Public consultation on Napier Port upgrade 'disappointing'

A Hawke's Bay Regional Councillor says he's disappointed the public aren't being consulted on an option that would see Napier Port customers, not ratepayers, foot the bill for its $350 million upgrade. Public consultation has started on four options for the port's future, including the council's preferred option of listing up to 49 percent on the stock market. But councillor Paul Bailey says none of the options being presented to the public are acceptable, and he believes there is another way. Here's our Hawke's Bay reporter, Anusha Bradley.
