Thousands of Central America migrants head for US border

From Morning Report, 6:45 am on 23 October 2018

Thousands of migrants are making their way from Central American nations to the southern US border. The caravan left a town in Eastern Honduras on foot over a week ago and headed west, across Guatemala, towards Mexico aiming, ultimately, for the United States. In a series of tweets earlier today President Trump called the situation a "national emergency", saying some of the migrants are "criminals" and what he calls "unknown Middle Easterners". He has threatened to reduce or cut foreign aid to Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador for not doing enough to stop the migrants from leaving.
