Women's rights welcomes abortion law change proposal

From Morning Report, 8:10 am on 29 October 2018

A women's rights group is welcoming Government plans to remove abortion from the Crimes Act. The alternative approaches, suggested by the Law Commission, include no statutory test for an abortion to take place, a statutory test performed by one health practitioner, and a statutory test performed only after 22 weeks of pregnancy. New Zealand's abortion law is more than 40 years old and starts with the proposition abortion is a crime. Terry Bellamak is president of Abortion Rights Aotearoa. She talks to Guyon Espiner.
