Christchurch rattled by North Island's 6.2 quake

From Morning Report, 6:13 am on 31 October 2018

A split second of panic set in for some Christchurch locals yesterday when they started to feel the ground shake beneath them yet again. Hundreds of kilometres away in the North Island north a 6.2 magnitude quake struck at about 3:15pm southwest of Taumarunui, at a depth of more than 200km. It felt as far north as Auckland and as far south as Bluff. Christchurch has been rattled by several large quakes since 2010, including the February 2011 disaster and the Kaikoura quake in 2016. RNZ Christchurch reporter Dan Dalgety spoke to Christchurch locals at Cashell Mall after the shaking stopped there.
