Queensgate calm, carries on despite 6.2 quake

From Morning Report, 6:14 am on 31 October 2018

Yesterday's 6.2-magnitude earthquake in the central North Island didn't stop Wellington shoppers flocking to Queensgate Mall in Lower Hutt. The quake struck at about 3:15pm, at a depth of more than 200 kilometres. It was centred 25km southwest of Taumarunui but felt as far north as Auckland and as far south as Bluff. In June it was revealed three out of 10 buildings at Queensgate are earthquake prone. However four shoppers RNZ spoke to said they weren't bothered by the risk and carried on shopping anyway. One in particular, Kevin Hoy of Lower Hutt, was rather philosophical about the whole experience.
