Khashoggi strangled at Saudi consulate - Istanbul prosecutor

From Morning Report, 7:23 am on 1 November 2018

Istanbul's chief prosecutor says Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi was strangled as soon as he entered the Saudi consulate last month. He says it was a premedidated killing and Mr Khashoggi's body was cut into pieces and disposed of. It contradicts earlier reports Mr Khashoggi was tortured before being murdered, with all the events captured on an audio recording. The BBC's Security Correspondent Frank Gardner says the new version of events will not satisfy either Mr Khashoggi's family or critical western governments.
