Calls for clean slates for former prisoners

People who have been in prison are lobbying to have their criminal records wiped if they keep out of trouble for seven years. They say employers turn them down because of their convictions, and it's not fair that their past mistakes continue to punish them forever. Currently, people can hide their criminal history under the Clean Slate Act if they don't reoffend in seven years, but that doesn't apply to former prisoners.
