Qualifying for Melbourne Cup harder for NZ horses

From Morning Report, 7:37 am on 6 November 2018

The New Zealand jockey-turned-trainer Lance O'Sullivan says qualifying for the Melbourne Cup will become increasingly difficult for New Zealand horses in the future. There are two New Zealand bred horses in 2018's race, Who Shot The Barman and Zacada. O'Sullivan raced in the Cup seven times as a jockey, his best result was second in 1985. Thirty-three years later he's training the New Zealand-owned Sir Charles Road. He told RNZ Sport's Barry Guy he's happy to have made the field.
