Boxing 'has become trivialised' - referee

There are renewed calls for tougher rules for charity boxing events after a man critically injured at the weekend died in hospital. Kain Parsons was boxing in the Fight for Christchurch. David Craig is an internationally accredited boxing referee and up until two weeks ago was the president of the New Zealand National Boxing Federation. The sport has become trivialised, he tells Susie Ferguson. From personal experience he says there should be at least a year's worth of training before someone should get in the ring.
