Big noise planned to mark WWI Armistice

From Morning Report, 8:30 am on 8 November 2018

A cacophony of sound across the country on Sunday morning will break the two minute silence of remembrance marking the centenary of the Armistice that brought the end of the First World War. Called the Roaring Chorus, te Korihi Whakaharuru it's designed to replicate what happened on November 11th 1918 when news came through that four years of fighting was over. It was met with widespread thanksgiving, celebration and a lot of noise. On Sunday at 11.02 people around the country are being encouraged to make a din in anyway they see fit.
