Primary teachers' strike across NZ starts in Auckland

A week of national strikes by teachers begins today in Auckland. More than one hundred thousand primary school students will be home today as teachers and principals walk off the job for the second time this year. Last-ditch negotiations on Thurday night failed to avert this week's rolling strikes around the country despite an offer of more money and a public telling off from the head of the Employment Relations authority who called the union's claim totally unrealistic. Our reporter Katie Scotcher spoke to Auckland parents and caregivers about how they are dealing with the strike.
