Rising road toll 'totally unacceptable' - Stuart Nash

From Morning Report, 8:12 am on 19 November 2018

Police Minister Stuart Nash says at some point people have to take personal responsibility for the country's horrific road toll. Four deaths in three crashes took the road toll to 330 - roughly the same number as this time last year, which went on to become the worst year since 2009. The Police Association president Chris Cahill says there are many contributing factors to the toll but one simple step is within the government's control. Stuart Nash is on the line. "If this trend continues then there are 50 Kiwis out there today who will not make it to the new year. I think that's totally unacceptable," he tells Susie Ferguson.
