From Morning Report, 6:09 am on 20 November 2018

Taupo's mayor says businesses lost at least a million dollars as a result of yesterday's power cut, which left the popular tourist centre a ghost town. About 16,500 customers lost power for most of the day because of a fault at the Transpower substation about 9am on Monday. Matthew Theunissen spoke to the mayor, David Trewavas. Power had been restored to the most properties in the district on Monday night.
