Auckland kids wait months for serious dental work

Auckland children with severe teeth problems who need treatment under general anaesthetic are waiting twice as long as they should be to see a dentist A report to the Auckland and Waitemata District Health Boards says some children, often in great pain, are waiting eight months. The president of the Dental Association, Bill O'Connor, told our reporter Katie Scotcher general anaesthetic is needed when the problem is deemed severe.
