City Rail link may face delays as builder's parent firm goes bust

From Morning Report, 8:09 am on 23 November 2018

The future of New Zealand's biggest ever transport project is uncertain, with the engineering firm hired to build it going into administration. Australian firm RCR Tomlinson was awarded the contract to build parts of the Auckland's City Rail Link just six weeks ago, in a joint venture with Opus International. But last night, RCR announced it's going into administration. The move puts question marks over the future of the $3.4 billion rail link - funded jointly by government and the Auckland Council. Auckland's mayor Phil Goff is not available to talk to us, we've received a similar message from transport minister Phil Twyford. The Public Transport Users Association's national coordinator, Jon Reeves talks to Guyon Espiner.
