NZTA too cosy with rail operators - health & safety lawyer

A health and safety lawyer has no confidence in the Transport Agency to police rail safety. Since an inquiry into the deaths of rail workers in the 1990s, the Agency has been in charge of making sure the industry is operating safely, while Worksafe is responsible for staff. Now a Rail and Maritime Transport Union investigation has revealed major shortfalls.
