Fraudulent psychiatrist remembered

For the first time in 21 years Robyn Byers has talked publicly about her former co-worker - a fraudulent psychiatrist who tricked a string of authorities to become head of clinical psychiatry at Nelson-Marlborough Health. She moved to Nelson within a year of starting at Hutt Valley Health, where she released a patient from treatment who then murdered his partner. Ms Byers told our Nelson reporter Tracy Neal that she was suspicious from the start about the transgender Polish national, Linda Astor, but failed to get the backing from management to take action.
