Crane operator shortage slows building boom

A shortage of crane operators means there are cranes sitting idle on construction sites across the country, despite the building boom. The chief executive of the Crane Association, Rod Auton, estimates that at the moment, the industry is short about 200 crane operators. He tells RNZ reporter Tom Furley that it can be a lengthy process to get the necessary qualifications.
