Primary teachers' pay, workload dispute, explained

Primary school teachers and principals say workload was the driving issue behind their rejection of the Education Ministry's most recent pay offer. Members of the Educational Institute have voted against the offer, which the Employment Relations Authority had said the should accept. It would have provided three pay rises of three percent, enough to increase most teachers' pay by between $9000 and $11,000 a year. RNZ education correspondent John Gerritsen talks through the details with Guyon Espiner.
