Fine or disbar inappropriately behaved Lawyers - Former lawyer

A former lawyer says the Law Society needs to take actual disciplinary action and fine or disbar those who behave inappropriately. The Law Society is bringing in new rules after a review into sexual harassment and inappropriate behaviour in the legal profession. A working group led by Dame Silvia Cartwright found there is a lack of confidence that the Law Society will act against perpetrators, and conduct and reporting standards are unclear. It said the lack of equality and diversity in the legal profession allows for unacceptable behaviour to flourish.
