He Korowai Trust in Kaitaia to house whānau over Christmas

He Korowai Trust in Kaitaia is at the coalface of the housing crisis in the Far North and will house many whānau over the Christmas holidays. The trust runs out of a renovated hotel and has nine cabins, 35 emergency rooms and a men's clinic. It's also restored 22 condemned houses in the Far North community of Te Hapua and now has a staff of more than 30 people. Te Manu Korihi reporter John Boynton spoke to Hildegard Wi Parata who is living in emergency housing at the trust.
