Chinese enrolments fall again

The five-billion-dollar foreign student industry is facing another drop in enrolments from its single most important market, China. In the last six months 500 fewer Chinese students got new study visas than in the same period a year earlier, a fall of eleven percent. That follows a 20 percent drop in the 12 months to June last year. Overall the industry is expecting several thousand fewer enrolments this year though there will be more students in high-value courses such as bachelors degrees.
