Vehicle collision repairers push for urgent safety changes
Vehicle collision repairers are pushing for the 20 year old Repair Rule that governs the industry to be updated. It covers high-tech cars using things like radars which need incredibly fine calibrating. The repairers and repair certifiers, along with motor industry groups and the Insurance Council, want the Transport Ministry to modernise the rule and police it, saying 20-30% of repair businesses may be performing poor repairs, and getting away with it.
