Waiheke Island tourist recovering after vicioust assault

A Melbourne woman on holiday on Waiheke Island is recovering after being punched in the face, strangled and thrown over a fence. 25 year old Raven Torea says she was approached from behind and attacked by a man near Palm Beach last Tuesday afternoon. She was rescued by neighbours checking their mail and escorted to hospital aboard a police launch. Ms Torea told our reporter Jordan Bond she's on the mend but badly bruised.
