Banks have failed Māori landowners, govt says

Banks have failed Māori landowners and it's time something was done about it. That was the message from the government when it announced the Provincial Growth Fund will spend $100 million on helping Māori make better use of their land. Those struggling to get loans from commercial banks can now apply for money. Susie Ferguson speaks to Minister for Regional Economic Development Shane Jones in Northland. He says he's confident it will be only productive projects that get the go ahead.
