Nelson fire: Firefighters welcome low winds

Civil Defence says further evacuations can't be ruled out as the Nelson wildfire continues to burn. They say the situation is unpredictable and changeable. The metservice is forcasting fine weather with light winds. The state of emergency remains in place. About 3,000 people have already been evacuated from Wakefield and the Eves, Teapot, Redwood and Pigeon valleys. Wakefield residents needing to get to work or to school are being taken through the town in convoys but are not able to stop. RNZ reporter Andrew McRae is in Nelson.
